Munros

The 282 Scottish mountains over 3,000 feet (914.4 m), first catalogued by Sir Hugh Munro in 1891 and maintained by the Scottish Mountaineering Club ever since. Ben Nevis tops the list at 1,345 m; the remotest entries, in the Fisherfield and Knoydart hinterlands, are two days' walk from a road. More than 7,000 people have registered a completed round, most of them after decades of weekends.
